A Tennessee dad on his way to the airport Wednesday forgot his adoptive baby daughter in the backseat before going on his business trip, police said.
Matt Barker left his East Nashville home at 7:30 a.m. to drop off his two kids — 1-year-old Katera and a 5-year-old boy — at their daycare, Nashville police said.
Barker came back home at 8 a.m., parked his pickup truck in the driveway – leaving Katera in her car seat – and then left a few minutes later to the airport via a car sharing service, cops said.
While he was at the airport, his wife, Jenny Barker, had already left for work.
Barker’s wife went to pick up the kids from the daycare later that evening but a worker told her Katera was never dropped off, police said.

The frantic mom called 911 as she rushed back to the house and removed Katera out of the car seat. She performed CPR on her daughter until the medics took the baby to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital where she died on arrival, according to police.
